The rate of pigment fade and the frequency of "Color Boost" vary from client to client depending on their skin type (oily or dry), lifestyle, and cosmetic products used around the permanent makeup.  There are combination of factors that may expedite pigment to fade:

  • Sun exposure
  • Dry skin tends to retain color longer than oily skin
  • Brunettes (darker/cooler colors) tend to fade slower than Blonds (lighter/warmer) colors
  • Retinol, exfoliant, skin lightener/brightener products
  • Laser treatment

This is an application of pigment to boost your original color and give it a fresh look.  Clients must have a design in place of brow, eyeliner or lips from previous permanent makeup application(s).

Tattoo pigment fade over time.  "Color Boost" procedures are for clients who have had previous permanent makeup completed by Pretty Please Studio, and need a refresher application of  pigment to perk up their color.

"Color boost" or "Refresher application" should not be confused with "Touch up" visits.  "Touch up" visits occur within 4 to 8 weeks of initial application.  "Color Boost" or "Refresher application" refers to additional applications of permanent makeup due to color fade 6 months after the completion of the final "Touch Up" visit.

Recommended "Color Boost" timelines:

  • Brows- 12 to 15 months
  • Eyeliner- 12 to 24 months
  • Lips- 12 to 15 months
